Pokrovsk Historical Museum, Donetsk Region

The Museum Crisis Center provided assistance to those employees of the Pokrovsky Historical Museum who have been on unpaid leave since May 2022. The money helped with rent and the purchase of basic necessities, such as food, as people were forced to leave their homes and look for a safer place for themselves and their children due to the evacuation announced in the region.

The monitoring mission of the Museum Crisis Center shared the following letter:
"I am Valeria, an employee of the Pokrovsky Historical Museum. I am sincerely grateful to the Museum Crisis Center for your help in such a difficult time. Many people are in a difficult situation today, and my family is no exception. Due to the aggression of the russian federation, my family and I were forced to leave for safer regions and found ourselves in a difficult financial situation - on unpaid leave. I am grateful to the MCC for the one-time financial assistance, which came in handy. After all, living away from home today requires significant financial resources (rent, food, clothing, basic personal hygiene products, etc.). And I am very grateful for such a significant support. Today it is very important, I can even say vital, especially for those people who are forced to leave their homes and build their new lives."

PS. We publish the stories of our fellow museum workers with their permission, and only when they believe that there is no threat to their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
